In music, 'Sampling' refers to the reuse of a portion (or 'sample') of an audio recording in a different recording. Samples may contain elements such as rhythm, melody, speech, or sound effects. A sample may be only a fragment of audio, or it may be a longer portion of music, such as a continuous drum beat or full melody.

Under current sampling laws, arists are generally required to get permission from the copyright holder of the original recording (generally the record label) and the copyright holder of the original composition (generally songwriters or their publishers).

The Seanad (Senate) is one of the two houses of the Oireachtas (Parliament) in Ireland alongside the Dáil (Assembly). It has 60 seats: 11 appointed directly by the Taoiseach (Prime Minister), 6 elected from university constituencies, 43 from five vocational panels (administrative: 7 seats, agricultural: 11 seats, cultural and educational: 5 seats, industrial and commercial: 9 seats, labour: 11 seats) by an electorate of TDs (MPs), outgoing senators, and members of city and county councils.

The Seanad, in practice, can only delay the decisions of the Dáil by postponing a bill for a fixed amount of time, or refer the bill to the President and ask them not to sign-off on it. Senators may participate on Select Committees and Joint Committees, and a maximum of two Senators may be government ministers. Senators may generally introduce bills, although there are some restrictions on this.

Mary Wollestonecraft (1759-1797) was a writer and philosopher, most known for her advocacy for women's rights, especially regarding women's right to education. A statue 'for' Wollestonecraft was erected in Newington Green in London in 2020, designed by sculptor Maggi Hambling. It depicts a naked female figure emerging out of organic matter, with a quote from Wollestonecraft on the plinth: "I do not wish women to have power over men but over themselves".

Hambling's design was chosen over some other designs, including one by sculptor Martin Jennings, whose design featured Mary Wollestonecraft with a feather quill and a pile of books, dressed in period-appropriate clothing, with a quote from Wollestonecraft around the base: "'Till more equality be established". 

The International Criminal Court (ICC) investigates and tries individuals charged with genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and the crime of aggression. Presently, they only have jurisdiction over the 125 states which have signed and ratified the Rome Statute, which notably excludes the USA, Israel, China, India, Pakistan, Indonesia and Turkey, among others.

The Chongqing model of economic development, focuses on improving economic development through the promotion of large state owned enterprises, the profits of which are redistributed to massive public housing projects and subsidies for the poor.

In contrast, the Guangdong model of economic development, focuses on the development of flourishing private enterprise and the presence of strong trade unions to curb the power of private business with very little focus on redistribution.
